Petula – Hemline Well Above The Knees

Broken Beat, Indie & Indietronica, Singer Songwriter // By: Netlabelism // 24/01/2011 // No Comments
Petula - Hemline Well Above The Knees - cover

You’ll be digging this very diversified piece of ambient experimental Indietronica, Broken Beats and Folk Music immediately. Yeah no kidding! Berlin based Petula, guitars and former band member of Kate Mosh, really made a perfect pick of four remix tracks produced by La Boum Fatale, Corwood Manual, My First Trumpet and Brid Patt to enter “Hemline Well Above The Knees”, sub titled as Miniskirty Remixes. All raw songs from this Remix EP, have originally been released on Petula’s Minotaur Miniskirt in 2010. Additionally you’ll be finding “Geo…” a matra-like and unreleased track by Petula on his current Remix EP Hemline Well Above The Knees. All in all: Very convincing stuff! [Daark]

Mathias Schaffhäuser – In Concert [WARE]

House, Techno & Detroit // By: Markus // 23/01/2011 // 3 Comments
Release of the Month January 2011

More than one hour or eleven tracks later you right in the middel of that special live feeling and you just want to hit repeat. Thats my feeling for “Mathias Schaffhäuser – in Concert”. A journey trough different soundscapes from warm and deep to uplifting and fast. Most parts of this live LP was recorded at “Ilses Erika” in Leipzig during the Popup Festival 2010. Because of the crowed expressions on some part the whole set gets that special alive feeling. The preview track is “Confusion” featuring the tracks “Hey Little Girl” and “Epitaph”. Representing the melodic and deep side of the live LP. You can download the complete set for free including the artwork and description at the “In concert Page” at Ware.  And be sure to keep an eye on “in concert EP1″ with additional live material.

Pisu – Primavera [MV006]

8-Bit & Chiptune, Dubstep & Garage // By: Markus // 22/01/2011 // No Comments
cover

While i was drinking my coffee this morning i thought it would be time to dig a litle bit deeper into the Música Vermella back catalogue. And it was a excellent decision. Here we go with Pisu and his EP named “Primavera”. Four excellent tracks shifting between 8-Bit and Dubstep. Starting with the one i also picked for the preview called “Pop”. A layer massacre with a catchy melody , 8-Bit swirls and some wobbling elements from the left to the right. Followed by “No en som dues” also 8-Bit Elements playing epic games. “Sudo” is a more stressful tune (in a nice way) powered by a four to the flor base drum. The last one “Kuglerstrasse” is the most relaxing tune on this EP with a nice organ line playing some wird melodies while being pushed from a deep baseline from underneath. [MS]

Moron – Gomel Haze ‘EP

This little three-track EP is quite a treat. The inexplicably-named ‘Moron’ graciously grants us an insight into his deep and inviting stance on the quirky world of post-dubstep.
